I am aware its already the month of May and I am not sure why I cant finished writing this simple post which supposedly for autism awareness month in April.
Lets share our knowledge and at the same time..learn more about autism not only in April but anytime throughout the years.
Here what I have been writing and how we celebrated our autism awareness month this year.
The Month of April
The United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2nd every year and the whole world celebrates April as World Autism Awareness Month.
April is a special months to understand and learn more about autism. Autism-friendly events and educational activities take place throughout the month to increase understanding and acceptance and foster worldwide support.
Light it up Blue!
I don’t really have plan for Autism Awareness day or Month for this year except for collecting pictures from friends and families wearing blue attire as support to the special occassion besides sharing information in the social media.
Music bring us together
Its just sad that the world today is facing difficulties fighting the invisible enemies, Covid-19. And just like most part of the world, Malaysia implemented control order (MCO) whereas everyone has to stay home.
Being at home, not much to do I got inspired by many compilation music videos i have received and seen in social media. I thought to myself..’why not do something different this time?”
I was searching for the right song and I have a dream by ABBA seems to be perfect. It has beautiful and meaningful lyric.
I started asking friends and family who wants to join and do the video with me and gave them their line to sing. Some say yes immediately and i keep on searching and asking those who are willing.
At the same time I asked others for their picture wearing blue for the photos collections. I must say i never felt asking for support such as requesting photos can be difficult, a friend even told me she don’t have any family on the spectrum. Or its just a simple miscommunication, probably need a formal request in the future.
I have been rejected in terms of businesses proposal but never simple request like this. But i determined to do this project, not only for my teenage son but also for everyone on the spectrum.
When emotions runs high
Have you ever felt so smart yet stupid at the same time? It happened when I tried my luck asking our Malaysian legendary singer, Ms. Francissca Peter to collaborate. What was I thinking? I wasnt sure if she agreed at that time.
Everyone started sending in their videos including Ms. Francissca Peter. I was so excited and worried at the same time.
Making the video was the best learning experience, as it can be frustruating sometimes especially when I cant figure out how, why and what about the video editing. Its a try and error method, and as a result it is a beautiful video I ever created.

No Gym Required
Exercise is important to keep your body healthy, energy levels high, skin glowing, and diseases at bay. Oftentimes, the word “exercise” conjures up an image of intense marathon-style cardio or maxing out reps with heavy weights. While those are great hobbies, that level of intensity is not required to maintain your health. You also don’t have to spend any money on a gym membership or fancy equipment — there are a lot of ways to exercise for little to no cost. You can go for a walk (or run) outside or create your own routine using exercises like jumping jacks, pushups, and sit-ups. You can also use a lightweight, portable streaming stick TV device to help you log into on-demand workouts or apps with different routines every day, and you can even take it with you when traveling so you never miss a session! If your dentist is too expensive, look into other dental insurance options or change your dentist.
Taking The Small Steps
Taking small steps to learn healthy daily habits in addition to regular checkups are easy and cost-effective ways to stay healthy. When you are healthy on the inside, the outside reflects your health with glowing skin, radiant energy, and a happier version of you.

Looking back 16 years ago when i became a mom to a cute 3.15kg baby boy. I was still in the operation room half ceaser. Its was a scary moment when i heard doctors talking to each other “the baby not crying!” faster..do something”! I heard foot step running..and within 10 minute i can hear a baby crying. I was relieved, everyone was relieved. My baby boy is so chubby and i remember his smell the first time i hold him..smell so nice. My Sean Matthew is my first born…and thats is the start of my journey of being a mother.
Something is not right
First time having a baby of my own but not a first time taking care of baby. We are the generations who become nanny to our relatives, taking care of our younger cousins during school holiday.
There is something not right when a child became too active, too sensitive and doesnt want to play with other kids. As a mother this worries me.
I know I have to do something, even though I was being denial. Just imagine when you are in a party, he will just scream just because he dont get what he wants or scream and lie down on the floor in a restaurant because he thought the people in front was looking and talking about him. That is just a two examples of many situations we faced.
It was embarrasing, stressful and i might be into depression (didnt get myself check). As i know its not normal to have feeling to jump from my 2nd floor apartment, crying without reason and became worse after my second child was born. I was mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted.
The Blaming Game
The cozy home became war zone. Love became hate. There are nothing good to see anymore, everything focus on the bad and the wrong.
Then I wanted to do something different, i want to change!we want change!
To understand something you need to learn about it. Mr. Google has become my good buddy and references. Seeking informormation and knowledge from parenting, special needs and self development. How to control stress? understand emotions….and how to be a good mother?…”change anything you want to be with NLP”.
I packed my bag and took my NS-NLP Certification in KL for 7 days in 2010. Its a complicated things but i slowly understood the way it works once i applied it in my life..to myself and my family.
I didnt stop learning, attending seminar and courses related to special needs and children to be general. Outdoor Play and Certified Teacher Yoga for Kids.
After attended seminars, I then realized there are NLP technique being used in other therapy but the only different is the terms they used.
I did my own research and applied it my son, from how to control his tantrum/meltdown, how to relax, how to get ready for big event and so on.
There are so many Certified NLP Trainers in Malaysia and even Master NLP Trainer in Sabah. I am not sure how many can use their NLP knkwledge to help you as what i did is all through my own experience.
