Black Friday? It was all on the Yahoo news.. it was all over the internet news last week. I thought it was Friday 13th.. it confused me at first..but there were no 13th falls on a Friday for November. I google about it.. i never thought its something to do with the Thanksgiving Day.
Black Friday (sometimes Green Friday) is the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. Because Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday occurs between the 23rd and the 29th of November.
Black Friday is not an official holiday, but, as many workers have the day off as part of the Thanksgiving holiday, this increases the number of potential shoppers. Retailers often decorate for the Christmas and holiday season weeks beforehand. Many retailers open extremely early, with most of the retailers typically opening at 5AM or even earlier.
Wow..isn’t that interesting? i love shopping during holiday season..if i have extra money..i will shop till i drop..huhu..but to save it.. window shopping would be great.. I love how the shopping complexes decorate their shops just to attract customers. It is just so attractive and make you want to go inside..tempted to see then to buy.
Oh dear..reminds me of christmas presents..i do really need to do christmas shopping..Oh i so wish i can go shopping during Black Friday in US one day.
Have you ever experience deja vu? If you don’t know what deja vu means.. this is a brief definition..
Déjà vu refers to a state wherein a person feels certain (cognitive judgment) that he or she has previously seen or experienced something that is actually being encountered for the first time. Sigmund Freud believed the feeling corresponded to the memory of an unconscious daydream.
The scientific study showing that seizures coming from certain parts of the brain can cause déjà vu, mainly cause a “dreamy state,” in which the patient has hallucinations of past memories, and the feeling of having done something before or lived though the exact same situation. The experiment also showed that types of electrodes being sent through the nervous system caused similar hallucinations. ‘These occurrences were even further induced by fear and automatisms, or unintentional mussel reflexes, which are both symptoms of the seizures that cause the state.” (www.brain.oxfordjournals.org)
Another experiment took place in which these same electrical currents were simulated on people to attempt to induce this dreamy state. There were two different types of electrodes tested: PC and EC electrodes. The EC caused déjà vu and the PC caused reminiscence of memories. It seems that science could be the cause of this mysterious event.Maybe you thought you have been to this restaurant… because it looks familiar to you..
Whatever the scientist studied and said i still find it weird.. because i experience this situation maybe twice in a year. This year, it happened during my daughter’s concert day that was held in a ballroom of a shopping complex. I was doing her hair and when i was standing.. i feel this sudden feeling that i have been in that situation.. so i turn around.. feeling weird because it is exactly what i have encounter before..well i guess so..but when or where..i am not sure.It really was funny, so i just stand still ..maybe for almost 20 minutes figuring what was happening..my daughter was pulling my hand but i insist of standing there just for a while and when i walk..i still look around.. damn the situation is so familiar..the smell..the people.. gosh..when did i got anchored? It is just weird..but i managed to get over it .. i don’t let the deja vu feeling excite me so much.Have you ever experience the situation? maybe you were somewhere then you realized you were in circuit city or you were looking at someone who look so familiar as if you have known the person before? it is weird..isn’t it.Please let me know if you have other definition or belief on deja vu.. i would like to know more.
