Moving from one place to another is no easy task, but it can become quite a hassle if you have got children in the mix. However, if you have a toddler, then you are in for the ride of your life (sarcasm, obviously).
Of course, there are many ways you can make moving into a new house a breeze, but when you have to deal with toddlers too, you must up your game. Fortunately, there are several ways you can help toddlers relax, even during a move. Keeping this in mind, here are 7 ideas to help get you started.
1. Be Patient
Buying and selling a home can be a strenuous task, so much so, you may get cranky. When in such a state, it is highly unlikely you will be able to deal with your child.
As difficult as it may seem, you will need to be patient at all times. Think about this way. If you are optimistic and happy, your child will reflect those feelings.
When things are getting on your nerves, stop whatever you are doing, and do something that is fun. If you involve your child, it will be even better. As long as you and your child get along, there is no reason why they won’t be at ease while you move to your new home.
2. Be Thoughtful
Even though your child is a toddler, it does not mean he/she is not capable of understanding what is going on. It is possible that your child develops attachments, so it is not easy for them to let go whenever you want. Rather than doing what you want, take note of the things your child is emotionally tied to.
Whether it is their favorite toy, blanket, or pacifier, prepare them for what is to come. Do your best to keep those things around as it will definitely ease the move for them. If you are not able to do so, find something else to ‘grab’ their attention.
3. Create a Sense of Excitement
Children are all about being excited, so why shouldn’t your move be exciting as well?
Make your move interesting and fun; talk to your child and express your excitement at the same time. Tell stories and explain your desire for something better, which in this case is your new home.
The better you are able to explain the importance of the move, i.e., how it will make life a lot better, the easier it will be for you to pull through, which once again will reflect in your child as well.
4. Get some Help
On the day you are to move, if possible, get some help. Either ask your friends or family to help with your child, or hire a babysitter instead.
If you do get some help, your sanity will remain intact and your child will be safe too. Moving is chaotic, and failing to keep an eye on your toddler, even for a second, could spell trouble.
Do yourself a favor; get your friends or family, or a babysitter to take care of your little one. This way you can go about completing your tasks without having to worry about feeding or changing your baby.
5. Pack your Baby’s Belongings Last
While packing your belongings for the move, don’t pack your baby’s belongings until the very last day. Even though you may be tempted to pack all those baby gadgets and stuffed animals, it will do no favors to your cause.
If you are wondering why you shouldn’t pack your baby’s belongings first, it is because you do not want to go hunting for your child’s favorite blanket or toys through all the boxes you have already packed.
When you have finally packed your baby’s stuff, label it clearly, so that the mover’s know exactly where to place said boxes at your new home.
6. Pack a Bag of Essentials for the Move
It is important you pack a separate bag or a box of essentials for your child for the move. Apart from the typical necessities like diapers, make sure to pack your child’s favorite toys or pacifier. But do not stop there, as you should also pack items like a first aid kit, or any other medications that may be required along the way.
When the essentials bag is ready, place it in an easy-to-reach spot, so that you can access it at any time throughout the day, to access stuff you need when you need them the most.
7. Don’t Travel with your Baby in a Rental Truck
If you want your baby to be comfortable, do not travel in a rental truck. In fact, truck companies recommend that families travel in their own cars, especially if they have a baby.
There is no denying the fact that a majority of truck rentals come with airbags, and are quite safe for adults, but the same cannot be said for children. Since rental trucks do not have any seats in the back, they do not meet the requirements for traveling with children.
The aforementioned ideas are a few of many that can be incorporated into your move to keep your toddler relaxed. The most effective of them all being hiring a moving company if you have the finances for it. If you do opt for this option, you can solely concentrate on your child, without having to worry about taking care of tasks associated with moving to your new home. You won’t have to worry about packing and unpacking either as all of it will be taken care of by the movers.
Once you reach your new home, and when the time comes to decorate the place, do it in such a way so that it is easy to clean. If done correctly, you will have plenty of time to spend with your toddler, since their upbringing should be your first priority after all.
There you have it. 7 ideas to keep your toddlers happy and relaxed during the move.

Day by day we are blessed with so many things in life but we tend to look at what we don’t have in life. We compare ourselves with other people and we feel threaten with the people surround us. We begin to look at all the negative things in life and forget to be grateful and thankful for the little things we have.
PLAY, RECONNECT WITH YOUR INNER CHILD
As an adult, we tend to be serious in everything we do and become less or zero sense of humour. Everything for us is work and competition. You don’t care about friendship anymore, you aim for business.. because for you business is everything and you don’t need friends, you need money.
As much as you want to be on top, don’t forget where you belong.. this is where you stand and play. Reconnect with your inner child, embrace and remember when you were a little kid. The happiness, joy and laughter, and many things that is FREE in life.
PLAY MUSIC, JOIN DRUM CIRCLE
Music is a great therapy and has powerful affect for the body, mind and soul.
…”Research has shown that music has a profound effect on your body and psyche. In fact, there’s a growing field of health care known as music therapy, which uses music to heal. Those who practice music therapy are finding a benefit in using music to help cancer patients, children with ADD, and others, and even hospitals are beginning to use music and music therapy to help with pain management, to help ward off depression, to promote movement, to calm patients, to ease muscle tension, and for many other benefits that music and music therapy can bring”.. sources from verywellmind
I recently joined ‘drum circle‘ and it was one of the best skills I enjoyed learning. Seriously I don’t know how to play any music instrument but the moment we were in the circle, everybody starts playing music. We were like an orchestra, the tune seems to synchronized even though not everyone can play music instruments. Everybody play by ear, listening to the beat and try to get into the melody.
If you know there will be a music circle in your area, just join in. You will never regret it. If nobody want to go with you, don’t bother.. you will meet new friends. Trust me its fun!
BE KIND, BE NICE
No matter how educated you are, what position you holding or how much money you have, please remember to be kind to others. Be nice, its not really hard to do. Your act of kindness will get blessing from those you treated nicely.
At the end of the day, the people you met will not remember what post you were holding or how much money you gave them, but they remember how you make them feel.
SMELL THE RIGHT SCENTS
Start your day with essential oil, by diffusing, inhale or apply it on certain part of your body. Honestly I never use perfume anymore since I use essential oils.
Essential oils has been around since the ancient time. It has been use for physical, emotional and spiritual wellness. There are so many different type of essential oils with each has different scent and uses.
Many users using essential oils, not only for diffusing, beauty, physical and emotional use but also using it as alternatives to harsh chemical product, creating a safe environment for the family.

We need a day by day reminder and motivation to go through our daily life. Friends and family are the best people who can support us.
I hope your days fill with love, happiness and joy.
Everyone know what is communication and why we communicate, in general to convey message and making sure the receiver received and understand the message. You are receiving my message while reading this article.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND YOUR CLIENTS
As a Teacher, your roles are more than a ‘Teacher’. Students and Parents are your main clients. For parents, you are the first person they asked advice from or someone they turned to if they want to share something about their child because you are with their child most of the time at school.
For students, you are more than a Teacher who provides education, you provide protection, support, encouragement, love and care. You are their older sister/brother or even as their parents. You carry lots of responsibilities in your daily duties. Be proud of it!
WE ARE FULL OF EMOTIONS
Yes we are human, we are not perfect. We are full of emotions and everyday we are facing with lots of ups and downs. Remember not only you have lots of stuff going on in your mind…kids do too.
WHAT IS GOING ON INSIDE OUR MIND
BEFORE YOU START YOUR DAY
Before you start your day. Inhale, exhale and be thankful. Keep yourself calm and enjoy the day.
Remember the 5 basic needs, each and everyone of us need these basic needs to get ready to learn. Every child need to be seen, heard, need to be respected, need to feel belong and therefore they will be ready to learn.
HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR STUDENTS
You are not just dealing with any typical students, you are dealing with ‘special needs students’. You might have observe each students and you are fully understood that each students are different but the one thing that is similar are they are fragile. Looks like they don’t understand you but they do have feelings, they heard and understand whenever you talking about them. They don’t want sympathy they want empathy. They want you to show them you CARE and LOVE them.
Always remember to listen to them, look at their eyes, mirror them and speak their language. Observes their action, their needs. The more you observe, the more you be able to understand them. Have vision on them and asked them their vision. Show them empathy, they want to feel that you understand them, that will make them feel secure and safe.
Handling kids are never easy, handling special needs need special teacher like you. Be calm, keep calm because that is the only weapon that helps you go through their mind. Acknowledge them and use their names when you are talking to them. Recognize their ability, even the small things makes a big different. Always encourage them, for the job well done. Even when they fail, keep on encouraging on what they can improve.
DON’T JUDGE THE PARENTS FOR THEIR CHILD’S BEHAVIOR
We use to judge parents when their child behave badly especially in public. I believe this happened in school too, whenever there is a naughty student we assume the behavior must be from home.
I would have think the same before but when my kids are in school I seen some differences, things I didn’t teach from home, things I don’t want them to say, its all there in the package.
...”Over the years, I’ve learned that child behavior is not as cut and dry as I once might’ve believed. Some kids aren’t born with a “don’t hit” and “be gentle” button, and it takes time to nurture those things. No two children are alike, and having a son that hits and bites is further confirmation of that fact. And while before I was a seasoned parent, I thought the only thing that resulted from good parenting was kind and obedient children, now I know otherwise. In fact, I’ve met plenty of wonderful parents over the years with kids who seem like they go out looking for trouble. I’ve come to believe that it’s one of the great lessons of parenting—that you can’t control everything your children do”.-Sarah Bregel- Parenting.com
…”Once kids reach school age (and for many of us, even sooner) they are away from us many hours a day. We have less control over the things—and people, and behaviors—they latch onto. Of course, it’s always important to take note of, and work to curb, any undesirable qualities that pop up, but being away from parents is a good thing. It gives kids room to grow and explore in new ways. We will still be the most influential people in our children’s lives, and inevitably they’ll pick up some of our mannerisms, ideas, habits, prejudices, and talents. But they don’t have to be—shouldn’t be—our mirror image…” Peggy Drexler Ph.D. – PsychologyToday.com
Imagine those parents with special needs child like me, we face challenges in managing our child’s behavior. There are times we can’t control them and they themselves unable to control what they experiencing, remember they are SPECIAL, they have sensory integration issues.
Parents are already stress, not that they don’t do their work but they are things beyond their control. If you focus on the parents too much you are will not be able to focus on the child.
