Why He Choose Barber instead of Salon

Trimming his hair during the weekend, his hair grow so fast. Looking at him sitting there reminds me how hard it was few years back.

Long time ago when he was younger, having to bring him to to get his hair cut has always been a challenge. It was easier to cut/trimmed his hair when he was younger but as he was bigger, I am afraid Im going to give him a bad hair cut (which i did) and its troublesome to do hair cut at home.

    The Sensory Problem

Our first attempt to get him a hair cut was at a salon when he was 6 or 7 years old. I thought bringing him to a salon, lady stylist will be a good help instead he had a meltdown, scream and tried to throw a chair.Having sensory problem makes him hates of the sound of the electronic hair trimmer. The smells of shampoo, hair dye and lots of liquid items related to hair treatment can probably affected their sensory. Some salon has lots of picture, decor, color that are very attractive but too striking for those with sensory problem. So I had to continue giving him hair cut at home while he watches the tv or use handphone for distraction.

    The Environment and Location

Probably at the age of 10, we decided to bring him to a barber shop, the barber was an old man and the shop were very quite and not many people at the time. When he was sitting down, i remember my heart beat so fast and I prayed that he will sit still…and yes he did. It was a success! After the success story, we continue to get his hair cut at the same barber shop and even if the shop were full, we will patiently wait for our turn. Why he prefer barber than salon? The answer is..the environment …not much smell..not much visual distraction…its just plain SIMPLE.

    Little Step at a Time

So yes that struggle is real but little step we make and the little step they take is a victory.

“The secret of your success is determined by your daily agenda.” John C. Maxwell

Not like before going to the same barber shop, now we can choose any barber shop convenient, as long as its a barber shop.

For parents with special needs, why dont you share with me your child’s hair cut experience.

How To Make Good Health Less Expensive (The Smart Ways)

Glowing skin and radiant energy are outward signs of a happy, healthy person. However, you don’t need to spend hundreds of dollars on a personal trainer, and you can avoid those high dollar doctor’s visits. Anyone can achieve their best health with a few changes to their daily habits and routine care. Let’s talk about a few of these easy and low-cost tips.

Hydration Is the Key to Success

One of the easiest and cheapest things to do for your health, and one of the most overlooked, is just to simply drink water. University Health News lists a few of the many benefits, ranging from an increase in energy and endurance to disease prevention. A common rule of thumb is to drink at least eight glasses of water a day to stay properly hydrated. If you struggle to drink enough water or don’t actually like water very much, you can flavor your water with lemon slices, berries, or herbs like mint and basil. No matter how you take your water, the effects will be quickly apparent in your energy levels and skin.

    Love the Skin You’re In

Speaking of skin, did you know that it your skin is an organ? Its job it to protect the important parts of you that hide beneath the surface. Healthy skin can prevent nasty germs from entering your bloodstream. Keep your skin healthy by keeping it clean and moisturized. Another benefit of prioritizing skin health is that you will look younger and feel better about your appearance, and that can give you a self-esteem boost!

    No Gym Required

Exercise is important to keep your body healthy, energy levels high, skin glowing, and diseases at bay. Oftentimes, the word “exercise” conjures up an image of intense marathon-style cardio or maxing out reps with heavy weights. While those are great hobbies, that level of intensity is not required to maintain your health. You also don’t have to spend any money on a gym membership or fancy equipment — there are a lot of ways to exercise for little to no cost. You can go for a walk (or run) outside or create your own routine using exercises like jumping jacks, pushups, and sit-ups. You can also use a lightweight, portable streaming stick TV device to help you log into on-demand workouts or apps with different routines every day, and you can even take it with you when traveling so you never miss a session! Remember, regular exercise goes a long way to maintain your health and prevent future disease or illness.

    Routine Checkups

In addition to diet and exercise, it is important to always schedule routine checkups with your primary care physician. Prevention and early detection are important tools, and your doctor can best help you monitor your health, especially if you are a senior. While these visits can run up a pretty high bill, you can offset this cost with the right insurance. Insurance plans change year to year, so be sure to examine your current coverage to ensure you are getting all the benefits you can. If you are a senior on Medicare, you may want to look into the Medicare Advantage plans to extend your coverage and include important aspects like vision and dental care.

    Don’t Forget About Your Teeth

Dental care may not be the first thing you think of when you think of a health checklist. However, according to Harvard Medical School, oral health is directly linked to the health of your heart. Studies show that those who have poor oral health are more at risk for heart disease or stroke.  Avoiding sugar, brushing your teeth twice daily, and flossing daily are all helpful habits to increase your dental hygiene. Just like it is important to see your doctor regularly, it is equally important to visit your dentist for routine cleanings and checkups. If your dentist is too expensive, look into other dental insurance options or change your dentist.

    Taking The Small Steps

Taking small steps to learn healthy daily habits in addition to regular checkups are easy and cost-effective ways to stay healthy. When you are healthy on the inside, the outside reflects your health with glowing skin, radiant energy, and a happier version of you.

    FORGIVE YOURSELF (PEACE START WITHIN)

Life is full of ups and down, its full of surprises. You want your life the way you plan it to be but as much as you want things to be, sometimes it will not go as plan. Even your relationship with someone you love are beyond your control, as much as you want your relationship to last it might ended for certain reason. You don’t want that but if it happens life goes on.

If things dont go as planned, dont be disappointed, maybe God has different plan for you.

You feel its hard to move on because you have not forgive what had happend in your past. You need to make peace with yourself, don’t blame yourself or other people for what happened.

To be at peace with yourself is to be better equipped to face the world. To be at peace is to be more contented with your lot in life.

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. Mahatma Gandhi

According to The National, holding a grudge will make you sick. Constant bitterness can make a person ill – so says a research team from Canada’s Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec. “Persistent bitterness may result in global feelings of anger and hostility that could affect a person’s physical health,” reveals Carsten Wrosch, a professor in psychology, who has spent 15 years looking at the side-effects of negative emotions.

The ability to forgive is crucial for you to move on from the past, and find peace within yourself.

If you not willing to forgive and make peace with yourself, you will create a feeling of hate which will be a stone in your heart, hardening each day and giving you lot of pain. Sometimes we keep hating someone we forget what they did to us.

To forgive is and easy words but not an easy task. Not many people willing to forgive but if you willing to forgive and let go, you must be proud of yourself.

Forgiveness is easing the chokehold emotion has on you and it opens you up to healing, growth and possibility.

Before you forgive anyone in the world, forgive yourself first, make peace with your past. Be thankful for the experiences you were given.
